thats showing the f***er who's boss!

Well im looking for a replecement for the 1100 but still love it and dont know what to do, i think ive replaced all the major parts that go bang and it doesnt owe me anything, is it worth getting shut of?
what alternatives are there
New Yam Tenere
Triumph Tiger
Honda At or TA
Aprilia pegggggaso thingy
just fancy something a bit newer and as for 1150 or 1200 forget it :P i cant afford one lol

I got 55 MPG on the last tankfull 170 miles full to full, that was a slow steady day of bimbling, with the odd excursion to three figures, mainly Welsh
A roads in no hurry, normally more like 45 MPG

As far as the bike goes, im coming up to the first anniversary with the GS, I bought it for a reasonable price and I am enjoying getting it to my taste, its a lovely bike to ride and is re-introducing me to riding after a long layoff in a very nice way, it really seems to do what it says on the tin.

I thought mine (02 1150GS) was guzzling too much fuel when I first got it and started thinking I needed to do a zero zero TPS reset, balance the tbs, end floats etc etc but soon realised:

1) I ride like a bastard
2) A GS is a thirsty, heavy old turdbrick of a bike

I no longer worry about mpg ;)

I ride like a bastard:augie
Nothing like being honest:thumb
Well just done a 350 mile run up round lakes and yorkshire dales and its returned a healthy 45mpg and ran like a good un.
Lesson learnt from this is not to leave the throttle boddies for as long before balancing em, at least everything else has been replaced so piece of mind there:beerjug:
Ta for all the advice:beer:

my 1100 returned 52mpg the other day, with the 1150 tank (22l) I get about 235 miles before I have to throw it on it's side to make the garage.

Most of that is motorway cruising at about 75, if I crack (95) on it drops to about 45.

My commute is 60 miles each way so I do keep an eye on this, what with gold being cheaper than gas at the moment.

The mixture is set with the CO pot, accessible on the r/h side under the rear mudguard there's a hole. Look up into it and you'll see a big screw.

If you don't have a co meter turn the screw 2 turns clockwise to start with and see how it goes.

But it could also be your airsensor.

:thumb So that's how they do it

Just to confirm that the Steptoe treatment sorted out my GS. It runs perfectly now, as good as new:)

I should have just taken it direct to him in the first place.

You live and learn.
