... you might want to consider 'hard parts', particularly if you are venturing off the smooth black stuff. They strengthen the gearbox mounting point, which has been known to fail, and help to prevent an 'off' smashing the lock stops at the front end.

Joking aside it's a fairly common fault on the 1100's, weld or replace it's your call but the addition of the support rails from Touratech can help.
