So I go to my BMW parts counter and ask for an altenator belt, the guy says what type of Altenator Bosch or Denso different part numbers? I say its a base model 1999 R1150GS, I think the high output altenator option was for the Adv models which is much later????
I think he knows naff all, I got the numbers off my belt to get a spare and the one damaged rib looks like fitting damage anyway so I will leave it for a while... 11.28 1341779 692637 AND its a 4PK611.SR which I understand and will see where I can source as I know poly vee belts from the design side...

Anybody know on that side if there were different fitments in different years..

I find soethimes that parts counter guy just like to show off thier knowledge of the parts bin. If they get your registration they can tell you exactly what belt you need.

Your model uses the 611mm belt.

In fact even the later 1150 models can use the 611 belt in an emergency ( or permanently if they like), it doesn't really make any difference.
