Need help to find why gs 1150 wont start, It cut out after 3miles after starting.
It tries to start when button is pressed, but won't pick up. Some fuel seems to be getting through, exhausts get hot, I have checked fuses, relays and plugs. I suspected water in the fuel,so changed fuel filter.

I have run out of things to try, any suggestions???

Congrats on your first post Don, told you it was easy didn't I :clap. Hope you've got some ideas from forrys link, I will be working tomorrow but off Thursday and Friday, let me know if you need a hand :thumb2.

Fuel check ; Spark check ; fuses & relays check ;

Check the throttle wire...just above the cylinder head. eg. if you had the tank off lately it might not be seated properly and the result is usu. firing on one cylinder only, if that...
I suspect this because you say the exhaust gets hot eg. the cat is working it's magic, starter is whirring, and you changed the fuel filter.

Just a thought...

Ocean have sorted bike, got it back tuesday [29th], lots of cash lighter, fault was ignition pulse generater and rotor, they have set up bike, and it does feel better, need to get out try it out see you soon.

hi
thanks forry for info useful, but still took bike to main dealer, the fault was ignition pulse generater, which may be the same as the hall sensor, this sensor in positioned on the rank behind front cover, any job done and bike is now going
thanks
