I need some advise from someone who has first hand knowledge of the driveline.
My 2002 Adv 21k miles, when on centre stand can rotate back wheel in both directions without any undue noises or knocks.
Repeat the same with the bike in gear and there is approx 2" of rotational play between a forward and backward motion of the wheel measured at the outer edge of the rim, and as you can imagine 'clanks' as all the slack is taken up.
This was done after a run with the box 'hot'
I can feel no play anywhere in the backend, there are no oil leaks and seems to drive OK, shifts well and doesnt jump out of gear .
Any suggestions, do they all do that ?
What sort of a job is it to drop the driveshaft out to check ?
are there any parts that need to be lubed?
Thanks
