1150 Firing on one cylinder!

I could not see it Neil - there lots about the RHS throttle body but my cable sleeve had been dislodged under the battery tray behind the tank and fuel pump electrical connection block - it only took me a few mins to disconnect the fuel quick release and remove the connector and then nurse the cable sleeve back into the splitter-

Point taken.

The easiest and quickest way to reset a cable detached at the cable cassette is to hold the throttle body pulley firmly with one hand and turn the twist grip very hard back and forth with the other. Ping. It's back in place. :D

Hi,same situation... Worked fine..Tried to adjust slow running, now 1.5 Turns out. Also lifted air filter flap to have a look. Now have raised tank but can't see cable cassette. Seems to be slack on r/h butterfly cable. Won't start without half throttle. Runs rough and stalls. R/h plug wet and pipe cold. Is it really likely to be this cable seating problem? Do I need to move battery etc. to see? Can't download Steptoes picture of such which may help! How does this cable stall the engine r/h, if it turns the butterfly the same way as the l/h? P.s. New here! Any further help much appreciated- pictures etcetera...Thanks. DC

The cables are under the battery tray and difficult to see. The throttle cable seating pic is here

Thanks, but not the problem, So just two fuel connectors to get the tank off, one quick release, one fixed pipe. Hum.. Still seems counter-intuitive! Left hand fuels injector. Right hand starves it? I know nothing about boxer engines, but I am willing to learn... Thanks again. DC....

Ok I'm not sure you can reply to yourself, but here goes. I have swopped the primary ignition coils and that seems to be where the problem lies.

So, has anyone any advice about buying coil pots? Is it likely to be worth buying secondhand? Are the newer ones with the metal sheath better, more robust, or worse? Metal sheath in high temperatures? Are there any car equivalents-BMW or otherwise? Any makes better than others, any to avoid?
