I noticed today that my fuel gauge has randomly started to misbehave. Despite being brimful, the gauge reads a couple of bars less, and seems to fluctuate a bit.
I can't think of anything i've done that would cause this. Anyone else had it?

Squirt of WD40 or silicon spray on the 4 pin connector block under the plastic cover on the right hand side.

Common problem...easily fixed.

Mine always shows 2 blocks under full when full. Should I throw some WD 40 around?

Mine sometimes shows one block below full when brimmed, then shows full after 30 miles or so. I ignore it, details only matter at the other end of the scale.

Mine does that as well, and after a stop it normally goes blank for a while, then comes right after a time on the go again. Maybe heat related, ie when stopped it gets a bit warm under the tank then cools down once on the go again. Always went to 10 bars after filling when I first got it.

Seems to always be ok though from 4 bars down to zero, the light's constant at 200 to 210 miles from full. Just been using the trip for a while now, need to get checking those connections behind the rhs side panel sometime...

Have you dropped it recently? Lie it down on its right side that will fix it. On soft grass with engine bars is best.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Not been dropped or recently fiddled with; must be it's time of the month! I'll keep an eye on things, but I'm not going to get too worried.

Is that the cover under tank an seat??

Yup :thumb2
Use care removing it - first time I removed mine, I snapped off one of the plastic 'nipples' that locate it

It's not the issue with this thread, but HID ballasts can also sometimes mess with the RID.
