Got me some cheap, genuine BMW boxes, frames at almost half the UK price.
Brand new items, just needed the locks. Well worth the £30 postage.

thanks. I just checked your seller. It does seem he hasn't got cases at the moment. I will email him anyway.

I found other sellers. They all say the following "The article is offered without closing cylinders, they are available at the BMW dealer, with detail of the chassis number of your bike is ordered and even then the ignition key matches."

Is this what you did and how easy was for you to get all done? Did the BMW dealer create problems? Where did you get the brackets? Also, how much did you pay?

Got the boxes and rails from that seller, without the locks. His stock does seem to change, so keep watching, or as you said email him.
Your local BMW dealer will supply the locks and 'set' them to work off your ignition key for a small fee. (Mine didnt charge for the service).
The delivery from Germany was only 2 days and that was 22nd December. I was very happy with the service.

I got in touch with the vendor you mention via email. for:
- 2 aluminium cases
- rack
- instruction book

...he quoted 650 euro. How does it compare to the price you paid for the same items?

Also, when you purchased, was it an adveret on ebay?

I am not keen on transferring money to someone without an advert on ebay.

Just checked my paypal account. 630 euro, last December for the sides and rails. Item was advertised on ebay. I picked him up as a recommendation from another GSer here on the site. I have since recommended him to a 2nd GSer who also had a trouble free transaction. You should be OK, but I suppose you could insist on the item being advertised on ebay, to give you the protection they offer if you are still unsure.
