Have an issue with oil coming out of the filler. Have cleaned breather tube and engine breather output.

Still a lot of pressure at oil filler. Compression around 145 on both cylinders so at the lower end. Engine has 230k so maybe new rings. But would like to keep going for a bit longer, just wondering is there anything else I can do to help or check the breather?

Thanks

It’ll be the filler cap holder. Needs a new ‘O’ ring.
Pop it out the valve cover using a large flat blade screwdriver, fit new ‘O’ ring, knock holder back into valve cover with a suitable sized socket.
Also helps if you put a smear of silicone sealer around the O ring before putting it back.

The pressure is quite high without the cap on. I have tried a new o ring but oil works it's way past. Obviously crank pressure is high, but would have thought the breather would have sorted that!

Can you confirm where you fitted a new O ring …. on the oil filler lid, or the oil filler lid holder, which is pressed into the valve cover ?

The pressure is high with lid off and pumps out oily air normally , there’s two fecking big cylinders pumping up and down in a small space :D

I fitted on the cap. Without me knowing my pal put sealant around it and oil still managed to cover his boot when riding.

@otruk
What you have fitted is o-ring # 8
You also need o-ring # 6 which seals the plastic cap retainer into the cover.

Ah, now sunk in. Wasn't aware that the cylinder head one was replaceable. How much pressure should there be at the oil filler? If I place the cap on and not lock it, it has a good go and getting into outer space or is that normal? Have never noticed it in the last 230,000 .

It’s normal.

Thank you for the info, have a new cap and insert on the way.

New insert in place issues now solved, thank you for the help.
