I have just sourced and fitted a pair of old style (bread bin) type panniers with frames to my 2000MY 1150 GS

Question are the rear peg brackets different? The original touch the boxes (too long)

GSA metal panniers - you have to fit a different specific pillion footrest for them to work

Right.. Would that be GSA mounts?

Yes, but Touratech frames will fit with the normal GS pillion pegs (it’s only genuine GSA metal boxes that need the different GSA pillion pegs)
You may also need the Touratech rear indicator brackets to relocate them, if fitting Touratech boxes & frames

Thanks for this..i have re mounted the indicators.. The foot pegs are in the way and the boxes. I have seen a older thread where peeps have cut off the original luggage lug.

Ok
Never had them on my bike, just the BMW’s own metal GSA panniers

If they are the Zega racks then you will need to cut off the lug on the footrest mount that locates the original plastic box.

Touratech used to sell a peg mounting bracket with those racks but they are NLA I believe.
