Just got home and had a recall letter for my 2002 1150RT. No idea what it's about as just read it :nenau

Just spoke to my local dealer, and it is for the fuel line disconnects.

If you fitted your own or had someone like Steptoe do it for you then you can ignore the letter. Its just that BM's database doesn't know about it

OH NO!!!!!

This will give the 1200 Clitterati boys something to gloat about! :blast

Yes gents, it's true....after 13 years, BMW found something wrong with the 1150GSA :D

thats the only reason they have done it to take the heat off the 12s,wait till Flip sees this :D

The recall came from Dr Herr Von Helmut Cheese Jnr.
He's the only one from the Spandau factory who rides a Vasserscheitter, and he's fed up sitting on his own in zer kanteen eating his schnitzel zandviches while the big boys have fun......so he has been looking for a fault for the last 2 years and finally found an obscure thread on the New Zealand 1150 owners club site (South Island) where somebody suggested that their "O" ring had failed on the 28th time he'd taken off and replaced his tank since 2001......he immediately goose stepped down to Herr Doktor Helmut Cheese Snr's bunker and insisted that it was potentially catastrophic and so ein rekall vas issued :D

Don't recalls appear on some VOSA website?

I've moved addresses several times since I bought my GSA new, as I suspect many of the owners of a 13 yr old bike will have :nenau

They get the info from DVLA Bill for all current owners.

I've had one too. If it's to change the fuel disconnects they are too late, I've replaced the o rings on mine already :D

I fear the hand of BHT is well and truly down the front of Herr BMW and this is a months free advertising if they issue a fake recall, pah, you'll have to try harder than that. Fuel line disconnects, ha ha, one of the few bits of plastic on the bike fails, glad the rest of the bike ain't made out of it :D

I suspect that you are all going to get a free upgrade to a proper modern GS - the all conquering WC :D
