1150 GS wont start

Out on my bike today with no problems; after stopping and upon my return it would not start.Ligts OK oil light and battery lights on 'dash' OK!
None of the fuel bars appeared nor the 'whirring' sound just dead .Battery OK new this year and maintained on optimate

Does the RID light up? Gear indicator? Neutral light?

Side stand switch okay? er........ in gear....... er......

Yes (although I have made that mistake before!!)

Ok - my guess is dodgy side stand switch - try bypassing it.
