Hi after extensive searches I cant find any links to the oem alarm instructions
can anyone help please

... there was an OEM alarm, just aftermarket ones Which one have you got ?

Its an oem bmw alarm with two buttons one is ribbed

Have you looked at the manual for the DWA 5 alarm fitted to the R1200 series. Some of the function and controls might be similar to your earlier alarm.

Long shot, but worth a look see.
