Hi chaps, I'm posting this on behalf of captain GSA who is without internet access at the moment. The clutch on his 1150 GSA stopped working and yesterday he had it collected by our nearest bike dealers, bridge in Exeter, they've just phoned and said it needs a new clutch slave cylinder pipe but the part is out of stock with BMW, any other ideas where he might be able to source one? Any help gratefully received :thumb2

Cheers James

So what happened to the pipe. The GS one does corrode at the slave end but i thought the GSA ones were stainless.

Just written this on another similar thread, but I think it's appropriate to post it here as well.

Jono at Adventure Bike Warehouse has been trying to get me one for about 6 weeks....none to be had at the moment. Luckily for me I am replacing as a preventative measure as the old pipe is starting to swell at the slave cylinder, so the bike can still be used.

Motorworks have a few second hand ones, but they are not the stainless steel braided type.

Not sure which pipe you mean (I am a 1200 owner after all) but if it's a flexible braided hose you want and you know what end fittings and length of pipe, can't you get one made up by Goodridge, HEL, Venhill etc ?? :nenau

or any local hydraulic/hose/plant factors/company.
[cant remember the moble peoples name] Dah :blast

unfortunately I dont know the specifics, I was just instructed via a very short mobile conversation and his mobile had little reception so I only caught half of what he said, I'll pass on the idea of getting one made up though...Thanks again for all the help :thumb2

If you get the specs I'll run up to HEl and get one made... only a few minutes from the house. I can then post it on.

The pipe I'm waiting for is the 'bleed' pipe.

Apparently the banjo at the slave cylinder is 'micro bore' and Goodridge etc are not tooled up to make it.

If only. Master cylinder end is a standard size but the slave end is much smaller diameter inserted into the large pipe and with a 90deg bend.

I had a few stainless clutch lines made with various end fittings with and without the 90 deg bend and different bores with the intention of being able to offer an alternative, in fact still have two of them kicking around somewhere.

I did post a warning in 2005 about corroding clutch lines, and how to prevent it.... HERE :D
