1150 GSA Prices

Hi all,

a mate of mine is looking to buy an 1150GSA but looking about prices seem to vary wildly.

He's seen this one as an example:

Which looks very tidy and low miles but 7K seems like a lot of money to me

Or am I wildly underestimating what GSAs go for?

That one seems expensive but it is low mileage, with metal luggage and the piece of mind of a specialist vendor. I guess anyone is open to offers.

I think a decent 1150 GSA can be had for under £4000, but not with that mileage and metal luggage perhaps.

I paid £2300.00 for my '98, 23000 mile 1100gs. Great condition, but I had to spend 150 squid sorting out the front brakes and a new front tyre. I love it, but it ain't an 1150. I reckon the 1100's will go up in value.

I have a 2004 mint adventure for sale here. I have had an offer today for £4,400 to include my BMW panniers and have declined it. Prices for good 1150's are strong. I'm looking at buying in Germany and a bike with 13,000 miles will cost €8,000 euro plus. I also have a 2004 SE 1150 Adventure with 70,000Km's, I'm only owner and its got a full service history. Not mint but I think that I'm going to sell it. The James Sherlock one is €9,000 euro so around £500 premium on German prices.

I was watching 1150 prices for nearly a year before I bought mine. As mentioned, you can get a decent 1150 for under £4000, but it won't be very clean with low mileage. I found that the price goes up dramatically the further below 60,000km (~37,000 miles) the bike is. If you're looking for a mint 1150GS with very low mileage you can expect to pay premium prices. GS Adventures tend to be €1000-1500 dearer than their equivalent GS.

The bike in the link above is about the same condition and mileage as mine and I paid a similar price in Germany (Then another €1,500 on the trip home, but I think of that as a holiday rather than part of the cost of the bike). If I was still looking for one, I'd be standing outside James Sherlock's this morning, waiting for them to open. Extremely low mileage, one owner from new, all the paperwork and MOT certs, and whoever owned it was an enthusiast because they've changed the cable-ties on the final drive gaitor for jubilee clips.

You got a great bargain there. I haven't seen an 1150 GS Adventure with that low mileage for sale, let alone one selling that "cheap".

I bought a 1,900 KM Adventure back in 2013 for a lot less than the bikes above. http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php/351120-The-lowest-mileage-1150-Adventure I was going to keep it forever until a gent from this site offered me a big wedge of sterling for it . Low mileage Adventures are the Holy Grail .

Hi,

Mileage is very very low. Price is good if you can bring it down to 6,500/6,600.

Back in August 2015 I got my 1150 GSA final edition (m.y. 2005, 55 plate) for £ 5,800 from a dealer in Sheffield. Same original top box and pannier but 50k miles on the clock.

If you can get a discount I believe it can be a very good deal.

Got mine from on here last year - 2005, 22000 miles. Came with Hyperprpo suspension and Verns panniers - few other useful bits like fuel line connectors etc. Like Flip it has to be worth £5k to me now, I got lucky with the purchase price and the seller was a gent
