In an effort to further my knowledge abit and get to Tarks as I'm sure all they are answered elsewhere and but haven't looked, acouple of questions for you ...

Whats the differnence between single and twin spark engines, when did they change and which is the better? ( I presume twin ).

When did the larger tank come fitted as standard?.

Twin sparks were supposed to prevent surging which neither of my single spark suffered from

Twin sparks tend to have problems with the coils breaking down.

I think 2003 for big tanks.

Oh and extra virgin olive oil for the bevel box

Twin spark was introduced to comply with emissions regulations, nothing else

If BMW wanted to put a fix imn place to overcome the dreaded 'surge' they would just tweek the fuel and ignition map, but this would fail the emission requirement.

And it's £54 a side to cure - hence the twin spark is more expensive to run/maintain .

surges

my 02 adv surges, after 10 months and 10000 miles I don't notice it anymore

I think that if I keep it in 3rd in town it helps, but as I say I had forgotten, strange that

mine came with the 20 ltr tank , so 03 would be the year for that one
