Right....completely hacked off with the whole screen thing...all the fault of the previous thread.

In search of the holy grail of screen options I've tried the no screen option, torbinators with every conceivable position and was just about to order an MRA for my 1150 when I saw that Ztechnik have screens for my bike (thought they only did the new stuff).

Has anybody tried the Ztechnik screen on the 1150?

Sorry i didnt reply to your question on my for sale thread regarding the MRA screen, i find it really good , i am 6'3"" and it adjusts well so i get no buffeting, i cannot compare it to other screens as it was fitted when i purchased the bike so know no difference!
Yes from my experiences i would buy another and reccomend them:thumb

had a ztechnic, did not work for me with or without tobinators,

MRA Vario, had it a year and still happy. Its not perfect, but a lot better than anything else I've tried!!

Another vote for the MRA on my 1150GS - bought it from Jaws - excellent (previously had Tobinators - they were good, but the Vario is better and tidier. Good adjustment - I am 5'8" and works great - nice and calm at 80 with my Tour-X on.

Had the larger touring one for about two years - with torbinators. Works well for me. But the whole screen thing seems very individualistic.

I had an ermax tall screen on my 1150 a few years back. But i cut the flip off the top to smooth it out, then altered the fixing holes to lay it down flatter. Cleaned the airflow up really nicely, left my helmet in clean undisturbed air. Nice and quite, and no turbulance.
IMHO its not always about getting behind a taller screen. Try standing on your pegs and seeing if getting your head in clean air above it helps.
Have cut the flip off my 850 screen and layed it back as far as I can, but theres not much i can do to this one as it doesn't have the better mountings of the 1150. Wish I could lay it back more as its still noisy.

Thanks all, I think it is an MRA from Jaws....ordered today.

:clap

Let me know what you think of the MRA screen. Although the standard with tobinators seems to work for me.

I'll give you a shout when I am back in the UK, off skiing and if BA has its way I am not coming back.

Right...a little disappointed with the MRA is standard trim particularly after others have raved about it. Have now added the torbinators , set them back as far as they can go after trimming about 1.5 cm off the front screen mounting and set the screen to 50% elevation. Works well with visor up riding in comfort up to 60. Alsono buffeting up to 80- 85 but the screen doe move about a bit.

I will stich with this set up unless someone has tried the Ztechnik and can recommend it.

Dennis....not sure how you got a pass to go skiing with the boys just after buying a bike...I rekon your Mrs must be a rare one....see you when you get back.

I've had an MRA for about 5 years and have played with the positions and it has been marvellous. A great improvement on the standard screen.

I'm a big lad and 6ft tall and always have the seat on the highest setting.

OK Invict Moto, it's worth several beer tokens to get a pic to see what position your is in!!!

MRA Screen

Here's another:thumb2 for an MRA screen on a 1150GS. Got mine from Jaws (on this site).
Also FYI you get a great backup service from Jaws as I recently found out when I lost one of the fixings that secure the upper & lower screen. Well done Jaws :thumb:thumb

Got them fiited to mine....have got to a good place with the torbinators as far back as they will go with 2cm taken off the front screen fixing. I now gwr visor up riding to about 60 and no, little buffeting to 90.

I think I will stick here....otherwise it's an RT (does this stand for retirement?):augie.
