Well just had the 1150 adventure serviced. He is BMW trained. 40,000 km service, all fluids changed, rear pads changed (they needed it), fan belt on engine front changed as well. All bmw parts...... total cost was €250. Parts came to €172.42. I'm happy.

Possible to get a contact number Luke?
My 70K service is due soon.

ps;did your son get accomodation sorted for the volvo race?

Mechanic is in Dublin... any use ?

Son is in a hostel in Galway... he's rib captain for the dragon team :clap now everyone wants to be his friend. When the in port races are on guess who has best seat in the house ? Its like being in the pits for formula one :thumb

Edit.... This is my 1500th post.

Alternator Belt

Its the belt inside the front cover. They call it a fan belt on the bmw receipt.

Howdy,

I read the service interval on the belt and seeing as I carry one with me, I decided to see how far it would last. 45K miles is all. Nice price for a service compared to the dealer!!

Here is one I made earlier. :eek

Not urgent Luke.Do drop me a PM when possible.Cheers

Not urgent

Not urgent for me - just want to have another option next time. My last 12k dealer service including Servo fluid changes was just too expensive. I can do most things myself, but the Servo fluid change seemed a bit technical.

He does that too ! When i get back from my three weeks (smug feeling) holidays he is doing the servo fluid.

I know, I know ...

Steptoe to the red phone,........

Bleedin' servo pump does the work for ye.

I've read most of the Servo threads with interest and always find Steptoe's advice to be superb. Being a natural pessimist (if something can possibly go wrong, it will) I find the concept of bu**ering up the Servo too much to contemplate. I also find the thought that I might suddenly end up with no brakes at the wrong moment a bit too unnerving. I'd happily lose the Servo but the ABS would go with it. Certainly if it breaks - its a gonner. I have the instructions from the US with the Turkey baster etc. but I'm a Chicken. :D .

Cheers,

Psyko
