1150 Starting Issue

Any body know if the same starter fits the 1100GS? Ad seems to suggest so but my German is as good as my Gaelic....actually, the Gaelic is probably better...

Mines OK, but a mate darn sarf needs one.

Yes R1100 Same

Hi Gerry,
Yes the 1100 & 1150 starters are the same part number 01 12 41 2 306 700 on the BMW Fiche - link below :-

Price in the USA is $482 by the way:eek: so £55 delivered seems a bargain.
My engine now seems to fire-up in the 1st revolution - what a difference!
Still find it hard to believe it was the starter at fault as it seemed fine - but as usual, you live and learn:rob
Well chuffed!

Cheers....................Grizzly:beerjug:

I fitted one of these German eBay starters a couple of weeks ago and gave it a good test last weekend on a trip (lots of stopping and starting etc).

Prior to this, I used to get continual abs initialisation faults requiring several restarts to getting to clear. Recently it had reached the point where i could rarely get the abs to work and occasionally the starter would stall and reset the clock. Stripping and cleaning the starter had no effect (the magnets were still firmly glued).

The new starter worked perfectly - no abs faults and much faster turnover and starting :thumb2

Another one here for the £55'r - does what it says on the tin and leaves you £££'s to buy other toys:beerjug:
