I went for an 'off white' an old BMW colour from the early 70's - Chamonix white.

I think it might have to be alpine white with matte lacquer finish.
any takers?

The reason I first painted mine was that it came back from my first USA trip with some dings. Sprayers could match the silver, but were struggling to finish it in the 'satin' finish it came in.

Knowing that this was going to be an ongoing problem, I decided to have it done in gloss white. So that I could guarantee getting paint for when it (inevitably) needed repairing, I used the most common white the sprayers used (Ford Polar White IIRC). I'd go with gloss for this reason (it's what I'll be doing just as soon as I've damaged my new bike :D)...

think it was matt as it had a slight rough feeling to it, were as the 1150GSA silver was satin as it felt smoother to the touch ???

I remember years ago BSH ran a Triumph drag bike and they painted it Black an Pink tiger stripes it looked fantastic :)
