Just a note to any London based 1150 riders.

I had not used my 2005 1150gsa as it was not compliant according to the TFL site. I took it to Gambier Reeks for it's MOT and mentioned the issue - 'contact BMW UK and ask for the Certificate of Conformity' was the instant reply.

Done and 2 days later I had the certificate - uploaded the TFL and voila - now exempt and able to ride to work again.

Free to UK reg bikes - email them [email protected]

Hope that is useful.

Plenty of posts about getting Ulez exemption … plus you can thank me, it was me who told Paul and Lyne at Riverside Yamaha about how to get a bmw exempt. :D

Though I do not own (and never have owned) an 1150, nor have I ever been to Riverside Yamaha / Gambier Reeks (though I do know where they are) may I be the first to thank Steptoe for his service. On him and through actions like his, is the biker bond founded.

I contacted them early April '23, now 19 May, still nothing but the automated reply saying they are busy when I keep chasing. At this rate I will end up paying Khan to ride after August.....

I did this, received an email stating the exemption was successful in January 2021. I checked last week before a possible trip to London and the exemption has been removed. No email alert, no explanation, no letter, nothing. I checked and checked again, and my bike has been removed from exemption.

Check yours....

Jonzy

I have successfully got the documentation from BMW for ULEZ exemption for 2 bikes now

2004 BMW 1150 GS
2005 BMW 1150 GSA

Both times it only took up to about 3 weeks max. Each time I had sent them a long email with;

- Explanation of it all
- pic of my drivers license
- pics of the bike V5
- pics of the bike at the back (so they could see number plate) and also one of the engine number engraving

This was so that I am making it as easy as possible to whichever poor BMW Admin guy is having to do all of these for us.

May be worthwhile trying if yours didn’t include some of the info, just a suggestion
