Guys some advice please,
The bike is 1150 2002 single Spark 17300 miles std cat and exhaust on Tourances.

I seem to be getting quite a bit of vibrations once I get to around 3500 rpm in all gears all the way up. Once I get to about 70 mph in 6th the vibrations just disappears completely until about 80 then it’s back again. Not much vibration through the bars more the foot rest and the seat.

It does have a noisy 4th gear and was like that when I got it at 8400 miles and doesn’t seem to be any worse. I have tried freewheeling and there is no sign of vibration and below 3500 seems okay, I have checked to see if anything is loose, no obvious signs of anything wrong.
Could it be a gearbox issue or driveshaft?

Steptoe looked over it just after I bought it and did the tappets and throttle bodies which was done at 9500 miles.

Is there anything I should look out for in particular? Check/ do before I give the man a shout?

Any help appreciated…and yes I have done the search bit and read for hours…

Cheers

Trevor

You need to Service you bike for 18k.m.:thumb

They all vibe a bit but mine was quite bad, took it into CW and they did the valves, end float and balanced it and it is now a good 75% better.

Yep fair enough but did you do valve clearances? And also for the 5 minutes it takes Sync the throttles?

No didn't do either as it was only 4000 since they were done..:thumb2

Asked Colt to take it for a spin at the weekend and he agrees there seems to be more vibs than normal. What I don't understand is why at 70 MPH 3000 ish RPM no vib at all.
Hope to have a word with Steptoe tomorrow about it.Just get this feeling it's a bit more than the norm...

Cheers:thumb2
