Hi all,

The oil filter that I was travelling with has upped sticks and left me (lost it). So I need to change the engine oil after doing 6k miles from the last change. As I am currently stationed in the middle of bleedin nowhere at the moment I cant locate a garage to get a filter.

The bike is a 2002 1150 adv.

Should I go ahead and do the oil change anyway? Gawd knows when I can get my hands on a filter. Are the filters for these bikes used in any other vehicle that I might find here in India? Or is it a courier job from Turkey?

Cheers guys,

Just change the oil then, and stop worrying so much.

ok

You know....I'll do it,... goddamn it, I'll do it and, and, and...... I might just get a life. Throw caution to the wind, run down the street naked and change my oil without replacing the filter until I can find one. YES! This is the attitude that built this great country of ours.

My honda NTV manual recommends to change the oil filter only every second oil change and the range is 12000 km for the oil change. So I think nothing will also happen to BMW as far as oil still looks good at the moment of change.

If you get one sent in you will have to deal with customs again ! to save all the hassle I would just change the oil.
