Hi all. Just joined the Uber crowd again with a 2001 1150GS and I am peeling it apart for a good service. Is there anything 'extra' I should be looking at whilst changing fluids/lubing/etc that is not in the manual? Also it's got standard suspension at 34k miles. What settings do you run yours on the road solo (I'm 15 stone), with luggage, and for on the dirty stuff (in the summer!)? Ta

Suspension settings - purely personal. Just go out for a small run, do a small adjust and do the same run, etc etc. Or just do your normal route to work.

Service - consider replacing fork oil.

is regreasing the drive shaft splines not seen as good practice ?

Not needed on the R1100/1150 models. I've never had/seen any with wear.

Preventive maintenance -
Cut all the cable ties holding the wiring around the top yolk frame area, especially the ties holding the ignition loom to the front frame. :thumb

Do a search for the consequences if you don't :D

And snip the rubber covering on the end of the clutch hose gearbox end. It holds water and the metal pipe join rusts through due to sitting in water 24/7 .
