1150gs running rough as arse and very rich

Just curious' how did it mess the bike up. ??
I've frequently used redex / and redex injector cleaner and never had a problem..... in fact on my 1100 a long time ago when I had a gummed up injector, soaking in redex and or carb cleaner was recomended by my bwm mechanic.

Maybe there are two types of redex...all I know is my dealer was very displeased with me;) I'm having awful problems with my injectors gumming up .

Just a few random thoughts
Why did you replace the throttle cables in the first place?
you balanced the TB.s after that, have you rechecked the balace at idle again and is it OK , and again at part throttle.
I would be nervous changing/replacing so many things at once do one at at time otherwise you could well end up introducing more problems.
Did it ever run OK after its lay up and service ?
I would suggest you check the base settings again esp the valve clearance and TB .
Buy yorself a compression gauge while your at halfors they are not expensive and check the compression, otherwise you could be wasting your time if its too low or uneven, likewise the fuel pressure a basic test you have to to eliminate the high and low pressure side of the fuel system do these and report back
best of luck

well after all that and a day ****ign about i found the problem , i had systimatically swapped all the possibles and then gone for a ride so see if i had fixed it,

my bike now has a complete new fuel system, injectors , pump , lines regulator , air filter , airbox probe , and a butt load of other bits
i havd a shiney new compression tester and the bike was fine
ive done everything and as a last resort i went to put the origina cat and can on only to find the exhaust sensor half out!!!!!!

poxy thing

screwed it back in and stuck the original can on and low and behold she runs perfectly!!!! :blast:blast:blast:blast:spitfire:spitfire:spitfire:spitfire

so all it was doing was sucking in fresh air past the sensor causing it to think it runnig dangerously lean and maxing he mixture!!

all back to normal now.

hurar , cheers for the advice people !

some of the newer unleaded starts gumming after 6 months, seen it at the garage, try the petrol.......and filter??
