Hi Guy's
What would you do in my situation. I am thinking of swapping my Suzuki gsx1400 52plate with 23k on the clock for a 2000 model year 1150GS with 53k miles on the clock and the guy thinks it is an import.

What should I look for?????????????

1150 GS

Get it it's hardly run in yet, I hope it's a yellow one 'cos their fastest, don't
wory about it being an import, Several dealers were selling 1150s a few years ago low milage ones for Germany as a long waiting list for new 1150s. I brought one and several people I know did the same. Wailting list in 2001/2
was three and a half months.
Get and enjoy, and subscribe to this site.

Check the clutch. Take it for a ride and try top gear from 20 mph and up to 70 (ish) to see if it slips (min of £400 for NEW clutch). Check the gears don't jump etc. Check the rear wheel for play (search forum). That's the expensive stuff, the rest is relatively easy to sort. The milage is largely not an issue, it's how the bike has been looked after. The market value for the GS you've described is £3500 max.
