1150GSA <£ 4 k?????

Is it possible to get hold of a 1150GSA for less than 4k? I obviously mean one in decent nick and preferably in the white and Blue, i know i'm fussy but on a budget. i'm sure a few of you have been in the same situation.

I'm getting back into biking after 4 years away and have just come home from a time away so want to treat myself, but within a budget!
Had my heart set on a GS for a long time and the 1200GSA is well out of budget, wandered if the 1150 GSA was an option!?!

There are a few kicking around the for sale section (subscribers only so well worth the 12 quid investment imho) on here for around 4K...........obviously the better ones are above 4K but 4 and a half will get a low mileage decent one and higher mileage ones can be picked up for less.

59K miles, not immaculate but with all panniers etc for 3,200 ??

thats ace thank you! will def be investing in the morning, hoping the bike is only for a year until i can afford an upgrade! lol!

cant quite push to 4.5 but i am stubborn and have my heart set on a GS!

Not everyone considers a change from an 1150 to a 1200 an "upgrade"

Some good bikes about at the mo and the prices are very keen. Andy Leett? was selling a blue and white recently I think. Also you may have to compromise slightly for an ADV but here and on eBay there are some good looking bikes and prices. Subscribe and search

I appologise, don't necessarily mean a 1200 as an upgrade. May fall in love with the 1150 and want a newer one!

As I am pretty new to the forum and don't really know my way round to well, how would I find out if " Andy leett" still had the bike!
I fully intent to subscribe in the morning!

Other than on here can anyone advise me of any other websites they would recommend to look for second hand GSs?
I have looked at all the usual suspects, Biketrader, ebay, MCN, etc and nearly all the sites that pop up on google under "motorcycles for sale"

You're as well off here as anywhere else. Once you've coughed up yer subs you'll be able to browse the fer sale and wanted section to your hearts content

And I was only being tounge in cheek about the 1150/1200 comment. I'm sure 1200s are fine motorcycles.

some of us upgrade from a - 1150 to a 1200 then to a 1150 GSA

I may be wrong, but the blue & white scheme was only on the standard 1150 and not on the GSA.

Otherwise, yes, the blue and white is only available on the standard GS - but it's what I've got so obviously the best!

Bear in mind you can 'adventure' it up - beak, engine bars, lights, hard panniers etc

The simple things first - ADV Fuel tanks start at about £500, if you can find one. And then it all adds up from there depending on what you can source secondhand.

Auxiliary lights, from £100, engine bars about the same, beak, dunno, tall screen 100+ adapters etc etc...

If you can find an adventure for 4.5k, then its worth stretching as getting all the bits separately is going to work out more expensive - with the Adventure you'll get the larger tank, auxiliary lights, beak, tall screen, single seat etc etc

It is a different bike though - feels biger/taller

Is it not cheaper to buy 1150 ADV and have it sprayed white and buy the SE decals off Humvee 30 odd quid i think

Do a search on here loads of people have sprayed there adv in the SE colours

PM him. That's the way with bikes you see. Ping a PM for Q's etc. Many of the ADV bits are expensive to buy 2nd hand. Keep it the std colour if poss in my 'umble.
