Hi all,
I've just had my tank repainted after stripping it a few weeks ago. Reassembling the filler cap array, the fuel breather valve fitted easily by facing the rear of the tank. My vague memory seemed to recall it being forward of the filler cap on disassembly. Is this me having a senior moment:rob? Does it matter whether the breather/safety valve sits fore or aft of the filler cap?
Thanks in anticipation
Mark

It sits to the rear of the filler cap. So that the drain hole is on the left side. That way the water will drain out of the filler neck when bike on side stand.

When the tank was off my 1150 recently I was looking for the drain pipe from this drain. I could not see it at all. Any pics please ? Mine is blocked completely and the usual cleaning of it with strimmer cable etc etc wont work. And yes I have also put WD 40 down it to soften the blockage but no luck.

Down beside the rhs footpeg there should be 2 rubber tubes. One is an internal overflow, the other is the filler neck drain. I had to clear the neck drain, infacta I have to empty he tank to get out the gollop of water that entered it due to said blocked drain. I cleared the drain a bit but it was only by blowing back up while poking with the wd40 spout thing as well as adding petrol down the thing that I got it fully free. Put a rag in the tank mouth to stop the crap from the drain falling into the tank. the spout thing will go round the bend in the inside tube of the neck train if you persist.....
