1150GSA Spruce Up

Giving the bike a pre-season spruce up which so far has involved the following new parts:
K60 Scouts
Mivv carbon silencer
Screen
Rugged Roads fork guards
Touratech rear wheel ABS guard
Touratech oil cooler guard
Touratech fork protectors
Crud catcher
CPC metal quick disconnects
Brake pads all round
The bike is an unmarked 2002 non-servo ABS model with 29,900 gentle miles. It has full Ohlins suspension, BMW panniers and top box (inc. inner bags), ram mount, ultimate add-ons power supply
I’ve had the downpipes professionally polished and will re-install with new studs, nuts and gaskets. Having the valve clearances done, brake and clutch fluid replaced and alternator belt renewed. I’ll also renew the fuel lines.
All areas of the bike have been intensively cleaned and lubricated as necessary.
She’s coming up rather well so far
The aim is to leave it as good as new… then put it in the Carcoon bubble and ride the GTR!

They might be used, but all are in tip top mechanical & cosmetic condition

Just going through a DRZ at present - everything checked,oiled,greased & replaced/cleaned/painted as necessary

Nice to tinker in the garage until 8-9 pm on these light evenings

Although I think your bike looks great, and you've done a great job, its a MOTORCYCLE and was built to be ridden, not a statue to look at.

Ride it, get it dirty, then you can clean it some more....win-win

I don't see the conflict between a clean well maintained bike and one that is used. I ,like you, take great pleasure in trying to improve my bike. I also enjoy taking extended trips on my bike, two of the longer ones being 8500+ miles. I think that those that only get pleasure from their bike by riding it and having others maintain it or maintain it marginally are missing out on one of the great pleasures of being a bike owner. Think you have done a great job on your bike.
