Steve's got a standard 1190 ADV R which he wanted painting to look like this ...

He sent me down a spare set of bodywork that he's pieced together along with a genuine KTM decal set which (which was eye wateringly expensive ) and I set to work.
The only change I made was to the way the small stripes an the front edges of the tank panel terminated, I believe it's a better solution to the one's from the photos supplied. (There's also an optional white mudguard, depending on what it looks like fitted)

Sadly I don't actually have the bike here to assemble it all up and take some nice photos. However, I'm promised by Steve that he'll take some photos of the assembled bike so hopefully we can all see it on here :thumb

In the mean time ...... here's what it all looks like on the bench ............. all 14 pieces of it!!

<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/29879887@N02/16085531187" title="IMG_8317 by tunneruk, on Flickr"><img src="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7506/16085531187_cffc5928fc_c.jpg" width="800" height="600" alt="IMG_8317"></a>

That tank looks boooootiful :D

I'd be interested to see the white mudguard fitted. If I'm honest, I'll be surprised if it works, but I could be wrong :D

Now, If you're telling me that you can paint those sort of pitted black mudguard plastics .... I just may get you to paint my hand guards white.... :thumb2

(*Edit ... although thinking about it, the hand guards have a shiny finish that's different to the mud guards ... )

Should your opening line have read " Steve's got a standard 1190ADV and he wanted it painting to look like this..... " or do I have my models mixed up?
Nice job, as ever :thumby:
Hope you took a "rub" of the very expensive graphics :augie

Can't you buy white hand guards or do they only do black or orange?

Yes you can - black, white and Orange.

Thing is, if I got that Tunner bloke to paint 'em, I could muck about and make 'em a bit tarty ... :D

Looking forward to the finished article. :beerjug:

Indeed. Earth to Steve .... Make sure you post pics when it's done! (And post pics of the mudguard - even if you decide against it .. :P)

Yeah you're probably right, although it's an 1190 ADV R

Ok I must confess that I played a small prank which hasn't worked. The chap's name is actually Andrew and I thought he'd take the bait and comment as such ....... as it turns out, it was a pretty shit prank! :blast

Looking forward to seeing it all fitted, looks a great job as ever :)

I'd not noticed the wheels before when I've seen the pictures of the original bike - anybody know what they are?

Andres

Here's some more pics of it being built up ....

Looking good - I'd definitely like to see the bike in one good photo. I'm interested to see how the front mudguard looks as well. Nice job again ...!
