That explains why side by side roll on tests the 950 is faster than an 1190 :thumb

Mine was 130 at the rear wheel according to Hilltop .... :comfort

Having had a drag race from a rolling second gear (up hill) with Chris Tunner ....... I can safely tell you that your talking bollocks Mellors :D

Well ask the guys who organised the Taffy Dakar, they were surprised too:beerjug: perhaps Chris Tunners bike's shite :hide

Should try mine then; 138bhp and 90ft/lb at the back wheel (Hilltop again).

My willy's bigger than everybody else's :P

Wasn't this vid flagged up last week by those that can't afford an 1190 ?

:augie

Fixed ;)

Our little drag race was fairly predictable with Giles easing off ahead. In the real world there's not a huge difference, certainly not £10k's worth anyway :D
I rode an 1190 last week and it certainly feels more 'instantly powerful ........ though lacking a little character :hide

So being serious (for once !) You're absolutely right - there was very little in it. I think the only time an 1190 is going to bugger off in the distance is those long straights where that top end rush starts quickly seeing 110 ... 120 .. 130 ....

As you say, in the real world on a typical road, much of a muchness ....

I make you absolutely right, on big open fast 'A' Roads with enough room and stupidity to wind on into 3 figures then the 1190 starts to extend the advantage. A KTM 950 books at about 100BHP with about 85BHP at the rear wheel. If a sorted 1190 has nearly 50% more power where the hell does it all go? :nenau

Any how, I love mine and you love yours, they're absolutely ace to thrap across country. I stopped chasing horsepower some time ago, having compliant suspension set up to your riding style makes much more sense to me.

My guess is that the 1190 on the dyno possibly has an issue and is the exception rather than the norm.

Boring, boring, boring.................. :D

Andres

Sorry ..

Tunner, yer a big poof and ride like a girl. Cato will trounce the living daylights out of yer wheezy archaic 950 and then beat the hell out of it on a by-way.
Cock ....

(better ??)

Giles, you've only bought an 1190 to compensate for your tiny penis which is the size of an acorn. I couldn't wait to get to Charing that day so we could go our separate ways and I could finally make some 'real progress'

I hope all your children have small dicks ....... including the girls .......

(Isn't this the way all UKGSER threads should head?)

Of course comparing the 1190 with Tunneruk's 950 is a bit pointless, especially when the latter is weighed down with a dozen HIDs, 2 miles of scaffolding and 6 tons of orange paint !!
Now if you compared the 1190 with the tuned motor that KTM dropped into the light weight 950 SuperEnduro.....:augie......

Is that another gauntlet Arsey ..... ??

(Nutty backed out of the last proposed sunrise dual .... :D)

Now that Ladies and Gentlemen is the sound of envy :D
Of course, you've failed to consider levelling factor which is the weight of Giles's wallet .........
