What am I expecting?

A ripping engine with fine handling but lacking that GS presence. Also cheap looking switchgear.

But we will see - cant wait :beerjug:

My mate picked his brand new 1190 adventure today. I went with him on my GS. He loves it!!! Goes well even with the 7000rpm limiter thingy on. Did nearly 300 miles today. :thumb2

You won't be disappointed.
Not cheap though. Basic model and expensive to get any optional extras.

They dont have an R so im on the bum basic one - looks like ill have to pay if I want the badass version :blast

Doubt if it will be a patch on the LC though - chain drive etc :rob

Be prepared to have your socks blown off !!!!

I'll write up my thoughts asap, but all I can say for now is WOW !!!

One other thing I noticed in the dealers is an influx of other Adventure style machines now taking up residence on the shop floor. A few more GS's (I believe that they actually have sold most of those to the trade on the mainland as they don't want to clutter up the floor or look like a BMW dealer ;) Plus when I was handing the keys back, there was a guy collecting his 12GS Adventure that he'd just purchased. ), a Guzzi Stelvio and a CrossTourer amongst others.

+1. I thought it was a cracking machine. I certainly didnt expect it having tried all the others. Curently on a 1150GSA, and all the other GS's since (even the highly rated 12 Twin Cam), and the Triumph EXP...just seem bland and unexciting. Havent tried the GS-LC, but Ive beed told theyve taken all the fun out it...

IF/When I decide to change, the KTM would be first on my list.

Have you read any of the threads on the new LC?:D They've actually put the fun IN to this new GS.:JB

I'm sure its a stunning bike and very very fast but I'm overly keen on the looks. It looks too much like a blinged up V-Strom. Wouldn't mind a test blast though:augie

I had a fun morning :beerjug:

Will post my report shortly. Off to the N West 200 now.
