Has anyone tried the TKC 70's? My conti Attacks are great but I would like a little more grip for trail ridding. That said I do spend most of my time on Tarmac . Your experience or thoughts?

Well I've had the r and the normal version they both weaved above 100 with and without the top box, can't believe nobody has complained ,if i moved back on the seat it was better.

I loved them though ,just to unstable for my liking .
Really
I've not max'd out my R yet but 130 so far and rock solid (solo, no luggage).

That's very interesting. Do you push past the ton without the load and if so how do they feel. Are they ok in very fast sweeping bends? Also, can you get a good lean angle on roundabouts and tight hairpins with a good bit of appropriate speed? I like to push the bike a bit although not hooligan. Or at least I think not![]()
I just ride normally when not loaded up with gear. Whilst I don't ride like a hooligan I do like to crack on, and will on occasion see well over 100mph on the clock. (On private roads of course) And after reading that some folk were having stability problems using the 70's with top boxes on I did take it out with the sole purpose of checking this for myself. Absolutely rock solid.
One of the first things that struck me about the 70's was how they keep a rock steady line through the bends. I've yet to come across a better tyre on the gravely gnarly back roads and they are equally as good in the rain.
I remember coming home from the "Dent do" earlier in the year. I had only just put the tyres on the bike before then and on the way home on the Monday it proper lashed it down. The tyres gave me such confidence that I had to check myself on a couple of occasions as I was cracking on a bit for the conditions.
The only disconcerting thing that they do is to sort of 'Skip' or 'Twitch' over white lines, it only does it when you are bolt upright and isn't a problem at all once used to it.
I believe this is possibly due to the tyre having a very firm sidewall, as the general ride does feel a little firmer than with previous tyres.
All in all I really like the TKC 70, and as an all round tyre for all occasions (not offroad) I would say it's the best tyre I ever had and will be sticking with them when the time comes to change.

I have just fitted a pair of TKC70's onto to my 1190R. Unfortunately they have only been on for a few days and 40 miles so can't give you any real constructive feedback on them yet but liked the look of them so thought I would give them a go!
I bought the bike back in January with 2,000 on the clock and dealer fitted a new front TA2 as the original had worn unevenly, I then replaced the rear at 4,000 miles with another TA2. I was initially worried that the bike was going to eat tyres but they have lasted quite well.
I've just clocked up 12,000 miles so that's 10,000 miles from the front and 8,000 from the rear but the handling definitely deteriorated as they wore. My main issues were the way it would white line and you couldn't let go of the bars above 70 mph as it would shake it's head alarmingly.
When you get a few miles under your belt particularly in the wet can you please give us an update?
