Ok, so why is my rear brake crap on my Adv, its only done 2300 miles but compared to my old 1150gs not a patch on it. Have done the usual stuff like taking off any glazing, checked for any running out of true etc. Anyone else with the same problem. :mmmm

1200 ADV rear brake.

I have an 07 1200 GSA from new, and the rear brake is no problem, very good infact :thumb2 but it does only have 7000 miles on it,:augie but should not really make any odds.:nenau

No doubt some else will tell you another story :blast

I think the one on mine is reasonably good. But I've only had it a week and I'm comparing to an RT. Though it's been a while, I don't recall my 1150GS being significantly different.

Maybe my old 1150 just had a better than average back brake. I will miss that when going too quickly in to an Alpine hairpin and need to scrub off some speed. Cheers for the feedback. Jules.

just use the handlebar lever :nenau

that'll put the back brake on as well if you have ABS. using the rear brake alone is about as much use for scrubbing off speed as sticking your feet out in the breeze.

I find that the back brake on my 1200gsa is fine - the only issue is that the ABS tends to kick in a little early. Assuming you have an ABS model - try switching it off and then (very carefully:eek:) see how powerful it is then - bet it is powerful enough to lock up the rear wheel :D
