1200 adv tank bag

Hi all,best wishes for the new year. Have just bought a nice s/h genuine bmw tank bag for my 2010 1200adv, when I come to fit it rear bracket is incorrect ie it don't fit,before I start chopping and re-welding bracket can anybody tell me if this bracket is the only difference between 1200gs and 1200 adv large tank bags. cheers Pete.

I've just bought a new BMW tank bag with my 2010 GSA. Both front and rear of the bag have a metal u hook type of arrangement. The front bracket fits under the Vin plate, and the rear under the back of the tank and also has a is a velcro'd half zip which is a pig to zip the bag up to. I'm glad the tank holds quite a bit of fuel.

No tools needed, so yep, its sounds that you have a different fitting. I dont think it would be hard to fashion something though.

thanks for your reply It seems as though the rear bracket is the only difference,I have manged to modify by shortening and pop riveting the bracket (looks ok and is hidden under seat) I didn't want to buy new fitting as knowing bmw part prices by the time I,d added cost of bracket to price of s/h bag it would have cheaper to buy new bag.cheers Pete (A tight Yorkshire tosser)

I had the same problem BMW will provide the newer fitting for £15, regarding zipping up i had the same problem till i realised that the front hook ( material it is attached to) is elasticated, fit the hook under the vin plate and pull it bacwards it then zips up a lot easier then tightens up.
