1200 batteries

Dear all, i love my 1200, but last nite i got it out for a quick blast cos i haven't had a chance to ride it for 3 weeks( way too long) Anyway; it very nearly didn't start because it seemed to have a bit of a flat battery. I'm sure it shouldn't be that way. Have i read similar stories from other owners? I think i have but can't remember what the solution was. Do i need an optimate? Do i need a new battery? Any comments ( sensible or otherwise ) would be welcomed. Thank you

does anyone know if the genuine bmw charger allows the factory alarm to stay on after 7 days?

They all do that sir......

3rd battery in 15,000 miles / 27 months. Had this one since February so it's doing well (recent software update?).

Always use an Optimate (conected directly across battery) when the weather is damp or bike is unused for more than a few days.

I undrstand there is a software update that switches off your CANBUS to stop the battery going flat. It's free (at my dealer), contact your dealer.
