1200 fuel gage

Sorry if this has been asked before, but the fuel guage on my R1200GS seems to show only three readings - full, 1/3 and nearly empty with the yellow triangle on. Is this normal or should it go show consumption more smoothly?

nah sounds about right. when you get to reserve and you've only done 40 miles, then start to worry...

(and if someone can tell me why mine does this - not every time, but most - i'd love to know!)

JBP......Yes, this is a well documented aspect of the 1200's "character"... .....You get used to it. Just use the trip, like you will have done on your other 'bikes........

Hi, BTW. My 54 lightweight model had the same as yours. My present 07 1200 GSA has a multiple block gauge middle region of it's scale doesn't seem to conform with the reality of what's in the tank but then I have the OBC and the range thing is very usefull
