Been waiting for 2 weeks now for NOG to get me one of these so I can hard wire my GPS via the plug tucked in with the wiring loom near the head stock. Does anyone know of a dealer with a ready (or quicker) supply as I think mine's got to be shipped form Germany :( Yes, I know I could remove the tank etc. etc. and connect straight to the battery but if there's a specific socket there for GPS why not use it I say :P

I have the same problem. My dealer informed me it is classified as a workshop only part and not for resale to the General Public, and since the recent post showing it's existence BMW dealers have been receiving a LOT of orders for it.
I hope you have more success than I have. I hope the stocks have just been depleted with the recent demand.

Sorry cannot help.

Hi Bobj, My dealer wanted £45 For the little plug in your photo. I ended up wiring mine via the ascessory socket to the side of the seat.

OBisss

has anyone got a price on this item obisss said £45 thats nearly as dear as a complete new cable at 88 euro. also most dealers dont seem to want to sell the connection just the complete cable

Mines now on it's way from Ocean BMW in Plymouth. £10.28 including postage :thumb2 Stumpy can also do them for a similar price.
I don't know what they've offered you for £45.00

Stumpy you are a true Gent. My plug arrived today....Just the ticket!!
Many Thanks, Chris

seems to be a lot of difference in dealer attitude to selling this item, one i rang two dealers and one said not available buy a whole lead for e85 and the other guy said no bother will have it in a week at less than a third of the cost.it pays to shop around and says a lot about how dealers value customers

Hi Stumpy, If you can get me a GS1200 GPS plug 80 00 0 611 656 I would appreciate it. If you can, just let me know the costs and how I can pay you.

Cheers
Noel

D'oh!

That's an excellent photo documentary of how to make the useful Canbus cable, in the <a href=http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117400>"sticky"</a> Stumpy. :thumb2

I just wished I saw it before giving 50€ (roughly £30) to my BMW dealer for such a cable only yesterday! :blast

Lesson to learn, always take a look at the technical pages before visiting the BMW dealer and parting with too much hard earned cash!

BTW - How much would this cable have cost if I'd made it myself, considering I've already got a GPS power cable to butcher? I can also source all of the tools at work.
