Being verticaly challenged and having only 29" inside leg i tried my new
1200 ADV out with the standard seat and whilst quite a comfy seat it was just too tall when i came to junctions especially on a hill or off camber.

So ive taken to using a std 1200 low seat ( which i bought earlier ) and have now had it recovered to suit and had the foam tweaked as well

but its still not as comfy as the std seat and the suspension feel harsher with less padding although you can leave it on soft setting without it bottoming out as the 1200 used to do

But i can now get good contact with both feet either side :clap

i need to try a good 200 mile plus trip for final verdict

as for height i would say it feels the similar to a std 1200 with a std seat set in low postion

:thumb Spot on Chris :D

Looks great, I`m fortunate to be almost the correct "specification" to fit the ADV, I feel sorry for you vertically challenge people (no offence intended ;) ), BM did not give you the choice of having a lower seat as standard, so you have to go out and find a solution yourselfs. I`m sure BM will have something soon, but your seat looks great, I guess it will be very difficult to make it comfortable due to the lack of foam. Have you thought of fitting a gel pad under the cover?

Who did the recovering for you, is it the original cover, or a completely new cover?

Looks great...

Looks great :thumb

I'm using a standard 1200 seat which is lower than the Adventure, but higher than the 1200 'low seat' option and with 29" inside leg can manage OK. Still comfy too. Going to get my Adventure seat re-contoured to the same spec as a standard 1200 when I can get round to it.

Great bike eh! How d'ya find the suspension?

We are made in the same mold Chris,, ie leg size and bike spec (when BM gets it to me??),
Ditto about the seat cover info,, looks great :thumb
Does your pegs feel high in comparison to the seat???,
Keep us informed on the long term comfort please, my bike is due in may..

Took one out with a standard 1200 seat today and it was perfect for my 29" leg too. Transformed the experience for me having teetered around on the normal seat previously. Deposit went down on the spot.
Dont think I'll bother recovering it though and may ask for a standard pillion seat too. BM didn't bring out a colour matched low seat for the old adventure (did they?) so I don't see that they will for this one either.
Just waiting on September now :mmmm
