BWM won't understijate the impact that LWR I has had on their sales, and I really can't see them cocking it up, or at least providing strong enough support to 'fix' it en route.
I agree totally - if they do use new bikes then BMW'll throw resources behind it and make it work - but just as an aside:
I saw Boorman doing his post-LWR "lecture" at SPC several months back. Apparently the first trip got treated prettymuch as a "just sponsoring another bunch of guys who were going around the world", larded-up with some extra freebies for the movie stars.
From what he (+ a chap from BMW HQ) said, the impression I got was the company as a whole was rather surprised at what happened to their sales when the TV series came out.
So: last time they didn't know what they had. This time they'll be more involved, which may have a downside on the filming...
Indeed Johnny but as I said elsewhere ugly bars might be just the job if (like Hepco & Becker) they work. The 1150ADV bars were undoubtedly pretty (if you can say such a thing about engine bars) but the most ineffective thing ever, more akin to the effectiveness of the 'cattle grid' headlight grill designed to protect against landslides and meteor showers
