1200 GS windscreen scratches

Hi folks

Has anyone managed to find some wonder product to polish out the very fine scratches that always appear on the windscreen regardless of how careful it's washed.
I have had reports of a couple of products in the States from a mate of mine -- Meguires and Novus 2, they both claim to be able to polish out fine scratches BUT I cant seem to find them over here or a UK product to match them.

Secondly -- if I wanted to replace the standard screen with someting about an inch taller, what would you recommend.

They sell a product in HG, for about £6, looks like a tube of toothpaste.

My father used to use Windolene (cream) on the perspex canopy of his plane. It was always immaculate but he applied it before every flight. Also the prop used to sort out the insects.

Caravan Pride

Sold by all caravan dealers for scratch removal on their perspex windows. Works a treat ( oops er...so I am told). Like toothpaste at £5 a tube. Also bings back the shine to tired paint without removing too much of the paint itself unlike a lot of car products.
