I have the above items on my GSA and am delighted with their capacity and looks. :aidan

I am, however, concerned about corrosion as they are bare aluminium.
:mmmm :mmmm   :thedummy :thedummy

Does anyone know how to protect them/remove corrosion should (when) it happens.

Cheers

Luggage

Unfortunately I didnt have your foresight and, having only used my bike briefly on on gritted roads, the panniers are now badly pitted.
I tried to clean them, without much success and they now look really crap. I took both panniers in to my local BMW dealers last week, where the staff offered various opinions as to what had caused the discolouration to my luggage. I was even told that I may not have any warranty claim on them, as I admitted to having not used 'BMW Approved' cleaning products !

What a weak excuse. Did they supply cleaning instructions with the panniers because certainly no instructions were included with mine.

The panniers for the 1150 GSA have a painted exterior. BMW has made a bad decision cutting corners by not protecting the 1200 GSA panniers.

Panniers

The Parts guy photographed the panniers and said that they'd send the pics off to the factory. I know that quite a few people on the site have had similar problems with their luggage, but the guys at the dealership said that this was the first time it had been mentioned to them.

Excuse my ignorance chaps but what is ACF50 and where can I obtain it?

Thanks for the info Gart. I'll have to get some aerosols and spray my brand new GSA. Cheers:beerjug:

Many thanks for the replies.

Looks like I'll be trying ACF50

Cheers again
