After covering 2000mls on a recent European trip I've decided that a comfier seat is needed. If anyone else has changed from stock item would appreciate any feedback on what is available and how good they are......

Shame isn't it ! What do the bikes cost ? £17K , then they need ;
cyl head protection, tank bags, ( because unlike older bikes, you can't even fit a fag paper under the seat) ACF 50 , and a new £470 seat !

I have the tall seat on mine and on top of that I have a lambs wool cover and I find that comfy and warm in winter cool in the summer

I had one on my Tiger 800 and you are correct - it makes the seat far more comfortable and temperature neutral. Where did you get yours from?

I have the BM enduro seat on mine and find that ok for longer bimbles, recently come back from the Stella Alpina rally to Lancashire in one hit
Not as good as my sargent seat was on the TC but it was good

It might just fell better as you have more room to move about

Hope this helps

I tried BMW's Exclusive seat and for me it was barely if any at all better than the stock seat so it's sitting on the shelf as an expensive mistake. While I really liked the Sargent on my friend's 1150GS I don't care for them on any of the 1200GS's, they seem too short front to back especially the wide part at the back. I really like my Seat Concepts intermediate seat which I ordered with firmer foam, I don't know if they've found a UK source to distribute them yet but they were looking last I spoke with them. I like their work and price enough that I have an SC seat on my FJ-09 and WR250R.

I also bought the same Exclusive seats and thought exactly the same thing until I did a long trip i.e. 11 hour days. They are much better for longer days than the standard seat

The standard GS seat is comfier than the standard GSA seat, for me.

Touratech seat is wider and flatter and more comfy, but very firm.
Add an Airhawk and its slightly better.

3200miles in a couple of weeks on standard GSA seat worked ok for me. Down to individual bums!

I found the Rallye seat more comfortable than the stock GS seat, and the stock GSA seat more comfy than the Rallye one.

I had a Seat recovered and new foam with a gel insert for my 2012 GS (not A), this done by Tony Archer in Huddersfield. Far more comfortable than the stock item - and as I used a seat base off eBay I sold the modified seat for £10 more than it cost me!

I bought a pair of Sargent seats for my GSA from this parish. Better than stock, but still not all day comfy for me.
Good luck on your quest for a comfier ride.

I have a GS low seat and I find it ok, better than my TC low seat. I did 1150 kilometres about 715 miles in one hit from Salamanca a detour through Portugal and down to Gib, in mid 30s temps., two weeks ago no problems apart from getting lost in Portugal.:blast

Bought a pair of Sargents, not all there cracked up to be.

I found the stock seat on the new GSA not too bad, but a Corbin came up on here and I snapped it up, every bit as good as the old one I had on the 800 GS before it.
