1200 gsa noisy

I have a 1200Adventure . Since new the bike has been noisy between 3000-4000 rpm when the motor is under load. The local dealer has told me on a number of occasions (they are all noisy) Eventually i booked the bike in and was told that the problem was caused by the Motad exhaust pipes. The pipes have only been fitted for 4 months! The dealer has downloaded different software which has cured the problem but BMW will not warranty the work as they insist that the problem was the pipes. How they can say this when the pipes were not fitted for the first 9 months i do not know.
Also the fuel filler cap allows water to enter the tank when the cap is opened. The drain pipe is not blocked. On closer inspection the drain pipe goes to the r/h side of the tank and exits upwards. obviously BMW have found some method of defying gravity. On the updated model the drain runs directly down the l/h side of the tank.

Rather than just fly in and ask a semi question and a semi rant to expect people to help .. it maybe better to spend a couple of minutes to write a fuller description of the issue(s). Then specify more accurately what assistance you seek, then maybe people will be more willing to help.

At present I feel that you have just come in and ranted .. with only a 3 post count nobody really knows you and therefore nobody really wants to help you.

Why not try a softer approach?

Just a thought.

On my 07 GS I removed a bit from inside the tank filler that made it easier to fill- found the details in a thread on here somewhere...I never had a problem with water getting into the fuel.

Hi ODBODD, You'll not find us all as unhelpful as this 'TOSSER' on here, don't be put off by people like this, I use the site for good idea's, of which there are plenty, and the odd bit of banter.Some people fell threatened by new blood and seem to forget it's an open forum, not their own 'personal' club , and no, you don't need to 'beg' for help mate!

I dont understand why BMW are insistant it's an exhaust problem when it clearly isnt? perhaps you should contact BMW customer services direct and ask them, the'yre quitehelpful, i've always found them nice to deal with, some people just can't take no for an answer!!!

My GSA12 makes a right Racket with Remus headers and an Akro pipe LOVE IT!!! Take the baffle out!!.All yer other probs can occur but use the search its easy and helpfull and saves time!! Otherwise welcome!!!!

The engine noise thing needs to be taken seriously, although if a dealer has looked at it and suggested it's OK this would surely look bad on them if it 'lets go' as a result?

I must say i'm on my 4th GS (one ADV and 3 std), & they all sounded different? Thinking back though, the ADV was, or at least seemed a little noisier.
