Must be that BMW are going to Launch off there own back as they have missed the Intermot motor show which is where I would have thought they would have launched the new bike.

My wording was a bit ambiguous. I meant to say it would be launched in the German market in October, not necessarily in Germany. If anything, this confirms Paris Expo as the likely launch venue.

Tim

I was told by BMW that I'd be pleasantly surprised.... and I'm not interested in the T800. So, Friday is coming toooo slowly...

It's not the first time i'ts ben posted here though! :D

And it's a fake, badly photoshopped at that. Basically they've taken a pic of an HP2 and airbrushed some panniers (in the wrong place) and a telelever arm onto it!

I shoouldn't breathe too easily just yet Al, the real thing could be even worse......

That grill thingy over the lights makes it look like the bastard son of the Alien.

Next new BMW

I'll hazard a semi-educated guess that the next new BMW to be introduced will be the R1200S, the replacement for the long-in-the-tooth R1100S.

I can never understand u lot who put down money on a bike you aint even clapped eyes on...BMW love ppl like you! They could put out a steaming pile of turd and you lot would put money on it!!! :D

Money and sense ...Put into a well used sentence and there you have it!

PS I love you all...really!

To be fair - the deposit is fully refundable if you don't like the bike, and if you love it...well you're at the front of the queue...

So what happened? Have you asked what were you supposed to be pleasantly surprised about?

Tim

You're right, I was more disappointed then anything else. BUT, I had a chat with my contact. And between the chat and some observations, I think what has happenend is that BMW were planning a launch or pre-launch (like what they did with the K1200R at Intermot last year), but ran in an argument with the Mondial organizers (as did Ducati who withdrew totally, and did not launch their SportsClassic bikes just so that Paris would't get the scoop).

The BMW stand had a cordended off area, all set up for a press conference, with drinks and food. But no conference, no hidden bikes.

So it looked like they were going to do something, but pulled out.

We all know that the F800S will be launched in Milan. After my chat, I was made to believe that the 1200GSA will not be launched until Intermot probably, since they've only recently launched the special series anniversary 1150GSA.

So, I'm bummed out !!!

I rrang up SPC today to be put on the waiting list for the 1200 GSA and was told that allthough there isn't a launch at the NEC the bike will be there on display.

I have heard bike to be launched at Birmingham MCS.

Also there is a dealer 'Part Number' and colours for the new 1200 GSA - this bike is a reality!

Model is 06RA/397-R1200GS Adventure 2006

Will be available in:

Alpine White 751 and White Aluminum 3 Metallic 954

...yes and I know 'seeing is believing!' ...

Something tells me that the GSA will be shown at NEC. Here's the math formula:

1. As I told you, BM had a disagreement with the Mondial (and I'm suspecting they therefore didn't show the GSA there).

2. Since they're giving the media the F800 at Milan, and will not divert the attention from that bike, they'll not show it in Milan.

3. Throw into the equation that the 1150GSA has been removed from the BMW website,

=QED, it'll be shown at the NEC.
