Hi all,
am planning a trip accross South America in a few weeks on a 07 GSA with 11000km on the clock.
would anyone be in a poition to advise on suitable shocks are if the factory fitted are good enough. i am happy with them so far but they have seen some abuse in their short life.
cheers

... The battering the shocks will have to stand up to depends on how heavily loaded you are, what terrain you are planning and what mileage.

... My stock 1200GS shocks worked fine on regular Sth Am roads, which are far less 'polished' than we are used to in Europe and they had 20,000 miles on before I started. They also got more use than Ewbies and Charlys during my trip, but my miles were road based, one up, light(ish) luggage.

... If you really think you need heavier duty units Wilbers seem to be a favoured aftermarket replacement.

P.S. - the first shocks that failed on Long Way Down were Ohlins!
