Sorry, did'nt mean to hijack a thread, but, it only goes to show how different we all are - I do'nt ever use the back brake - I lie, I use it to h0old the bike on the slope while I unlock the garage door - and we live on Stevie, both of us

I've not long had my brake recall done, i'll keep an eye on it for a couple of days for any sign of leakage, i'll be surprised if there is any though.

I've always braked 70% front 30% rear, no matter what bike i've been on, even with my linked brakes on the VFR and ST1300.

Different off road though obviously.

Nearly - but the importance is that this is a bike that has just had a brake pipe changed by the dealer.

Lets not start slagging off the latest generation of brakes or we're going down the path of "Nemesis" or "Dr ABS" ......... please.

Had a "lever to the bar" experience on another bike before. Quite a chilling experience if I recall - glad you're OK.

Of course, I'm now a riding god and only use my brakes every 10,000 miles - just to check they're not ceased.

On what to do, get evidence (pictures and video) and call BMW Assist. Then report back the results to us nosey bastards!!

I totally agree and it does appear the fault was caused in some way by the mechanic who worked on the bike which is just as important.

But I do like to slag off Servo brakes...I did it at the factory in Berlin, I've removed the servo from my own bike and will always maintain BMW created a (potential) problem where none need exist

All interesting stuff but doing a quick brake check before moving off is a life saver. Easily disregarded as being over cautious but it only takes seconds. Bloody good practice in my view.

the brake worked on the drive cos i reversed it out of the garage down the ramp!
