Guys, currently running Tourance tyres on my GSA, due to get new tyres, any recommendations, previous to a couple of years on sets of these was on Anakee.
Greatful for ideas, comments and suggestions

If you're mainly on the roads and not a REAL adventure rider, I'd recommend the Dunlop Road Smart 3.
Nice, neutral feel with no 'moments' in the wet and I'm just about to replace my back one after just over 6000 miles. Getting a bit squared off now but still has a few hundred miles left. Only changing now due to a puncture.
Had PR4's last time. Very flickable, if you prefer that, but very firm on the road. Must have very stiff sidewalls. You'll feel every ridge and ripple on the road. Didn't like them.

Been thru Tourances in various incarnations, Annakees on my first one back in 2006, The ones I'm happiest with and have stuck with are Conti TrailAttaks
This research was completed based on the thickness of the chicken strips on changing, the Contis consistently have none at the end of their life, My conclusion is they work for me.

At the end of the day tyre choice is a very personal thing & psychological .. its like shoes they are either the most comfortable thing you have or they cripple you One mans meat is another mans poison

I like the Trail Attack but I'm lately doing too much dual and motorway so would prefer a harder wearing rear centreline.
I've tried other brands but generally come back to Conti.
Maxxix SuperMax was the one exception for a heavy bike getting used as mine is now. Very long tread life and good handling but not available in 19" front.

I'm currently on Karoo3's

Not the most confidence inspiring tyre for road use lol

Dry grip is OK, but wet grip is ok to poor.

Rear tyre will need replacing in about a couple of thousand miles,

Front is brand new typical

I've used Pirelli scorpions before, good grip in the dry,

but in the wet a strange tyre, go into a corner gently , and it squirmed and felt unstable ,

Push it into a corner in the wet, and it dug in and gripped ...

Always an odd one, who really wants to push a tyre in the wet??


Looked at Tourance, but which ones for a 2006 GS T2 or T3??

Trial riders were my other tyre on the radar,

I don very little off-road, so a 90/10 tyre (trail-rider is ok)

But mainly A roads, so a harder centre would be better.

Any recommendations?

139 for the pair of Avons just shouldn't be passed up on for anyone who needs a pair of tyres in those sizes. Probably buy a set myself and keep them in the garage for when my current set need replacing.

Cant fault the PR4s on mine. 4k miles and the rear is worn, but no puncture problems

Tend not ride around in builder's yards though.

That`s because you live in Linconshire, I am on my 4th PR4 rear 2nd front . 5k miles per rear and 10k miles per front. And no punctures!! Asking for trouble.?
A friend changed his VW for a Ford and after a few days got a puncture, his wife moaned at him for changing the car as they never had a puncture with the VW !!.
