1200 or 1250 clear mind

I say the GS or XR are todays sportbikes because the youth is either not interested in motorcycles or can't afford them as pricey and low wagey everything has become ! Why would you ride a bike that breaks your neck or wrists and where you can't see where you are going if you can go faster upright ?
But still I would love if BMW came out with a modern version of a R1100S.A boxer with 150-170hp,Telelever,fairing like a S1000RR and height adjustable clip-ons would be hard to beat...:thumby:
I guess we have to settle for the XR version of the GS called M1300GS...:D
Pretty perfect as a road-weapon even if a R1300S would be sexier...;)

I don't get it? these are not sports bikes. If I want that I'll go out on my R1.
But for the bike it is, the 1200 is way fast enough... I don't need any more power at all so will be keeping my 1200 for some time to come.

But you cant do the roads on an R1 that the GS eats up all day , the R1 is an open road bike , not even a comparison the GS come on , its a sunday cafe bike or a track bike in the real world.
We went out with one the other day , he just gave in , he needed the A roads to justify the bike and still could only gain on the big opens sections , but we let him as we don't speed on the A roads as its just a reason to get nicked.

TBH, i get too tired on the R1 now. Anything over 2 hours and it takes it out of you...
Great bike for a mad 30 min blast about though. A GS would never keep up anywhere, for the first 30 mins anyway ;)
