The screen coms in 2 parts big winter that unbolts to reveal the summer version and comes with the xtra bar for the GS

There are side skirts and foot flaps for GSAs as well

I think the side skirts look fairly nasty. They won't be going on my bike.

Reckon they'd do a good job of keeping the elements off you in shitty weather but defo not what I'd be interested in I'm afraid.

Screen looks substantial but I find the standard one fine in winter and don't use it at all in summer.

extra flaps

If you want weather protection, why buy a gs in the first place?.

I'm sure a lot of time and effort has gone into getting these up and running.

But the question has to be asked-why ?

Totally spoils the line of the bike and looks very 'after-market',which of course it is.

Sorry,but definitely not for me.

I don't have 1200GS/A but I think is looking very nice I am not joking:clap
A true man how thinks bike:thumb

Hi Poo,

These look well engineered etc but the logical solution to this problem would appear to be a R1200RT :o :augie

Cheers all comments taken on board,

oooh you lot !

one question why do people fit aftermarket screens and winglets there are hundreds of posting on these ?

Different panniers are aftermarket same as exhausts seats shocks wheels tanks huggers and people love fitting these 1000s of posts maybe.

I've always wondered how much extra protection leg fairings would give... Seems like most are sorted with screen and don't care about their legs; but the next challenge for me is trying to get wind deflectors for my K12GT. Maybe I'm just a suthurn wuss (don't answer that), but it's the only bit that gets cold.

Maybe I should start a new thread?

Yes, I know it's not a GS (whatever), but there are no other forums of this quality.... ;-)

I like them - they are 'aftermarket', but look better than a lot of 'stuff' (wally flaps anyone!). If they could be fitted for the shitty weather and then quickly removed for the better weather with no 'after effects' I'd think about them.

+1. I like the look of the 12 GS/A thats why i bought it. I like the look of new clothes, (when i buy them) but if it rains i put a brolly up!

Hi Poo, I would be interested in prices plus more info on fitting/removal times as well as expected levels of protection and what permanent fixtures/marks are left on the bike.

Negative buggers

MRA used to do something similar for the 100 /1150. Plastic dark tinted translucent leg shields that were stuck onto the leading edge of the tank and 'rested' on the top of the cylinder head.

They were fitted to my 1100 when I bought it and on a black bike you hardly noticed they were there. I could show you several shots of my bike and it would take a while to realise they were fitted but I can also tell you that they were very effective:thumb I would've kept 'em for my 1150 but the shape of the tank was subtley different.

Whats wrong with having more of the protection that an RT offers without the bulky looks and expensive fairing:nenau:nenau

Hopefully I will have all the details within a week fingers crossed

I will post pictures of the fittings as well

cheers
